ERIC L. ROBINSON
BACKGROUND
Eric L. Robinson was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and currently resides in Japan. He is a Cass Technical High School graduate and earned his Master of Arts in Security Studies – Far East, South East Asia, and Pacific from the United States Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. He is currently completing his Master of Education in Educational Technology from Moreland University.
Eric served as a Tactical Interrogator - Translator (Japanese and Korean) and Human Intelligence Analyst in the US Marine Corps. He graduated from the Basic and Intermediate Korean language programs, Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center, Presidio of Monterey, California and completed his Advanced Korean studies at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea
BLACK TOKYO
Black Tokyo was established in January 1999 as an online forum. For many years, it was the only online resource for those of the African Diaspora interested in learning about Japan from an Afro-perspective. Black Tokyo remains a key source of information for those seeking to learn more about Japan.
On the social media front, Eric is a relatively new YouTube Creator. As a former-actor and comedian whose role, Afro Eric, made him very popular with Japanese television viewers and YouTubers in Japan, he is also focused on growing his edutainment brands. His company, Black Tokyo G.K. is incorporated in Japan and owns Black Tokyo and Afro Eric brands. In addition to its licensing business, the company provides goods and services at US military bases in Japan and Korea.
